SPOKANE, Wash. - In the first match of the tournament, Boise State University earned a 3-0 (30-23, 30-23, 30-18) victory over Morgan State University. The Broncos improved to 3-1 on the season, with the Bears fell to 0-1 on the year.

Leading the way for Boise State was Arlee Tamietti who finished with a match-high 18 kills, along with four service aces, five digs and three blocks. Mandy Klein dished out a match-high 37 assists as the Broncos finished with 47 team kills and a .288 hitting percentage. BSU also finished with nine service aces and seven total blocks.

Morgan State was led by Ivanti Bush, a Spokane native, and Jeniqua Moran. Bush finished with 14 kills, nine digs and two services aces and Moran added 13 kills, three blocks and five digs. MSU closed out the match with 39 team kills and a .152 attacking percentage.
