BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Gonzaga University women's soccer team wrapped up its final road trip of the season Sunday with a 4-0 victory over Cal State Bakersfield in Bakersfield, Calif.

The win propels Gonzaga to an 11-7-1 overall record, one victory short of the school record of 12 wins. The Bulldogs posted a 12-4-4 overall record during the 2005 season. The Roadrunners' loss drops CSUB to a 5-13-1 record for the season.

Seven Zags contributed to scoring Sunday with four posting goals and three earning assists. Sarah Hall opened scoring at 26:04 with her first goal of the season. Hall connected with a pass from Ashley Riley at 25 yards out before knocking the goal into the net over the goalkeepers fingertips.

Bulldogs continued to roll in the second half, posting the three remaining goals within 20 minutes. Second half scoring opened at 48:54 when Nanda McCormick knocked in a corner kick from Kelcey Goddard.

Christine Soma posted the Bulldogs' third goal of the afternoon during the 58th minute. Jamie Blanche passed the ball to Soma, who took on a Roadrunner defender one on one before scoring her fourth goal of the season.

Lacey Castleberry wrapped up scoring for the afternoon at 63:05 when she scored off of a Cal State Bakersfield turnover at the top of box.

Gonzaga goalkeepers Jessie Thalman and Lauren Ames teamed up to share the victory, with each Bulldog earned two saves a piece.

The Zags held the offensive momentum in the match, out shooting the Roadrunners 12-7, including 9-3 in the second half.

The Bulldogs will wrap up the 2007 season next Saturday, Nov. 10, when they host WCC for Pepperdine University. The game will take place at Martin Field at 1 p.m. It will also mark Senior Day as Gonzaga will honor seven seniors - Cristin Leverson, McCormick, Hall, Blanche, Soma, Lauren Zuckerman and Heather Horn - prior to the game.
