SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Forward Brian Ching and midfielder Jason Kuska were named to the All-West Coast Conference men's soccer first team, two of five Bulldogs to garner post-season honors in a vote of the league coaches.

Midfielder Justin Franson and defender Danny Huet were second-team selections, and keeper Mike McCarthy received honorable mention recognition. Huet, a junior, and McCarthy, a sophomore, are the only non-senior Bulldogs honored.

Kuska is currently tied for second in the WCC scoring race with 33 points, which also knot him for second on the Gonzaga single-season list. His 91 career points tie him with Ching for second on the all-time GU list. He scored a team-high 14 goals, and his 35 career goals are second.

Ching, who missed three matches with an injury, collected 22 points and is currently fifth in the WCC in scoring. He scored 8 goals to give him 36 in his career for third all-time at Gonzaga.

Franson, Huet and McCarthy played a big role as the Bulldogs allowed just 23 goals in 17 matches for a 1.35 goals/match average, fourth best in the WCC. McCarthyhad four shutouts and a 1.06 GAA, third best in the conference.

The Bulldogs finished second in the WCC race with a 5-1-0 record, the lone loss to league champion University of San Diego, 5-0-1.

Arturo Torres of Loyola Marymount University and Ryan Coiner of USD were named Co-Players of the Year, Nate Jaqua of the University of Portland is the WCC Freshman of the Year, Santa Clara University's Jeff Stewart was voted the Defender of the Year, and Seamus McFadden of USD was tabbed Coach of the Year.

League champion USD will be the only WCC representative in the upcoming NCAA Soccer Championship, hosting UCLA in the first round.
