Trevor Yost's Collegiate Career

FRESHMAN (1996):
Played in four matches, three starts for a total of 235 minutes as backup to Josh Fouts…first career appearance came "cold turkey" off the bench at UC-Irvine when Fouts was red-carded for a hand ball out of the box at the 80:00 mark…Yost made the save on the ensuing free kick, but a foul and free kick in the 83rd minute was converted for a 1-0 Irvine win…first career start was 3-0 home setback to Oregon State, one of the goals a free kick, another on a late breakaway as Gonzaga was pressing for the equalizer…came back in next game for 5-1 win over Whitman College, his first collegiate victory…lost shutout in the 85th minute…third start came against Evergreen State College, a 2-1 Gonzaga victory, playing shutout soccer the final 86:45 after allowing an early goal... 1.91 GAA for the season.

SOPHOMORE (1997): Only appearance of the season was second half of game against Whitman College, an 8-0 Gonzaga win the Bulldogs led 7-0 at halftime…backed up Josh Fouts, an All-WCC second-team keeper.

JUNIOR (1998): Backed up josh Fouts but did not see any action as Fouts played all 1,715 minutes of the season so was credited with a redshirt season.

JUNIOR (1999): Played in 15 of 18 matches, all starts, posting a 7-6-1 record and 1.76 GAA…had 56 saves and a .691 saves percentage for the season…opened season with 2-2 overtime tie at home against 11th-ranked Washington…was in goal as Gonzaga stopped 6th-ranked Virginia in the second day of the Coca-Cola Classic hosted by the Cavaliers, Gonzaga taking second by goal differential…suffered 3-2 setback to 25th-ranked Southwest Missouri State in opening round of Ameritas Classic hosted by Creighton, then came back two days later to make 5 saves as Gonzaga topped No. 1- ranked and host Blue Jays 1-0 to give Gonzaga second in the tourney…was hard-luck 1-0 loser at Santa Clara in West Coast Conference opener, goal coming at 88:15…had 7 saves at SCU as Bulldogs out-shot 18-9…had 7 saves to defeat 4th-ranked San Diego in WCC match at Gonzaga, allowing a goal in the first 4:09 and then playing shutout soccer until USD scored at 77:19 to close the gap to the 4-2 final.
