HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Kvennaskolin School in Reykjavik, Iceland... played four seasons for KR (football club of Reykjavik team)... team won Icelandic championship during 1999 season... selected All-League three times... played 20 games for U-16 National Team and 27 games for U-18 National Team... selected to All-European tournament team when U-18 team advanced to the European Finals.
FRESHMAN (2001): Came off the bench in the season opener against Stanford University, then started the remaining 15 matches...paced the team in goals (5) and points (13), the latter knotting him for 10th in the West Coast Conference...scored two goals in 3-2 victory over San Diego State University in opening round of the Diadora Classic at Oregon State University, his second tally proving the game winner...scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory at Saint Mary's College in regular-season finale, his unassisted tally coming in the 68th minute.
SOPHOMORE (2002): Started 12 of 14 appearances, sitting out road trip at San Diego State and Loyola Marymount University with an injury...had team-high 36 shots - 17 on goal - but was held scoreless, most of his shots from long range as opponents tried to keep ball away from him inside the 18...had two assists. JUNIOR (2003): Started 12 of his 13 appearances, missing four matches because of a sore hamstring that bothered him throughout the season...scored five goals to tie for team lead and team-leading five assists on his way to team-leading 15 points...first-half goal against Denver stood up in 1-0 win...his penalty kick goal at 87:12 tied match against UNLV as Gonzaga scored twice in final 2:48 for 3-2 victory...first-half goal against Santa Clara gave Bulldogs 1-1 halftime tie in 2-1 loss...assisted on late goal that sent match to overtime in 1-1 tie against New Mexico...10 career goals ninth on Gonzaga list and 10 career assists rank tied for seventh...five assists tie for eighth on single-season chart...30 career points rank ninth...named West Coast Conference honorable mention Misc.: Born 4-28-79...3.33 high school GPA... nicknamed the Red Lion. |
