UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Senior Trevor Loe finished tied for 14th with five others to earn honorable mention honors to pace Gonzaga University's men's golf team at the West Coast Conference Championships Tuesday at Chambers Bay Golf Course.

Loe, who was also an honorable mention pick last season, fired a final-round 77 Tuesday to go with opening day scores of 77-72 for a 54-hole total of 226. Brandon Crick, last year's WCC Freshman of the Year, had a 74-75-78 for a 227 for a tie for 19th and sophomore Derek Cheney shot 79-74-75 for 228 and a tie for 22nd.

The Bulldogs finished last in the team chase at 922, 10 strokes behind seventh-place University of San Francisco and well off the pace of team champion University of San Diego at 888.

The Toreros also had the medalist in Jake Yount who won a playoff with Chadd Cocco of Saint Mary's College after the duo finished regulation knotted at 218. Yount, who had rounds of 73-71-74, won the playoff on the second hole of sudden death. The playoff started at the first hole and continued on the 17th hole. Cocco had rounds of 74-73-71.

Tuesday's conditions were not as rainy as Monday's opening rounds as interment showers dampened the course briefly twice on Tuesday, but winds gusting between 10-20 mph made the 7,140-yard, par 72 layout challenging.

Chambers Bay will be the site of the 2015 men's U.S. Open and 2010 U.S. Amateur.
