BEAUMONT, Calif. - Gonzaga University's Derek Cheney finished tied for 11th and Brandon Crick ties for 17th at the Braveheart Classic men's golf tournament that concluded Tuesday.

The Bulldogs finished eighth overall in the spring opener at 927 after rounds of 315-309-303 over the par 72, 7.023-yard Oak Valley Golf Course.

Cheney had rounds of 76-75-77 for 228, while Crick shot 79-78-73 for 230. Trevor Loe, eighth after 18 holes Monday, finished tied for 22nd with rounds of 77-81-73 for 231.

Cal Poly won the team title at 900 for an 8-stroke victory over host UC Riverside. Nick Paez and Spencer Paschall of the hosts tied for medalist honors at 220 for a 1-shot victory over Michael O'Brien of Cal Poly.

Tuesday's play included the completion of Monday's second round that was halted due to darkness.
