Joe Manning enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Gonzaga University cross country program after competing for four years for the Bulldogs. Manning ran at GU from 2001-04, graduating from Gonzaga in May of 2005.

While a member of the Bulldogs squad, Manning helped Gonzaga reach back-to-back NCAA West Regionals in 2003 and 2004 after the Bulldogs placed second in the West Coast Conference Championships. Manning earned first-team All-WCC honors in 2003 and 2004 after earning honorable mention accolades in 2002. He was a two-time All-WCC Academic selection.

A native of Ridgefield, Wash., Manning will help oversee recruiting for the GU program. He currently works at Gonzaga in the student publications department.
