One Goal is a fundraising campaign that will give Gonzaga Soccer the opportunity to play at a nationally-competitive level by providing the two teams with a top-notch facility. Both the men’s and women’s teams are on the brink of achieving greatness with the men’s team defeating a past NCAA champion, making an appearance at the NCAA tournament and boasting a Hermann Trophy candidate and the women’s team also reaching the NCAA tournament in recent years.
Projects such as the McCarthey Athletic Center and Patterson Baseball Complex/Washington Trust Field have taken our basketball and baseball teams to a whole new level. Now it is time for a new soccer facility which will have the same effect, boosting our soccer teams to national prominence. While it is Gonzaga’s intention to bring together winning teams, the real focus is on our student-athletes, with the ultimate goal of providing them with a dynamic environment in which they can grow and push their skills.
The soccer facility will be built at the site of the current venue, just west of the Rudolf Fitness Center. The stadium will feature more than 1,000 permanent seats, a playing field with a natural grass surface, and an adjacent practice facility. In total, the stadium will accommodate nearly 2,000 spectators, counting both permanent and moveable seating. It will also include two home team locker rooms, two visiting team locker rooms, a press box, training room and concessions.
