![]() Anthony's Scholarship Dinner A Success5/9/2008 - General Release Gonzaga University and Anthony's Restaurant joined together for the third annual Student-Athlete Scholarship Benefit Dinner and Auction May 1 at Anthony's at Spokane Falls. Approximately 200 Gonzaga supporters gathered to celebrate GU athletics as well as the accomplishments of Jim Etter, this year's guest of honor. Etter, who is a GU alumnus and played baseball for the Zags from 1956 to 1958 has been a vital part of the Gonzaga and Spokane communities supporting charities and organization such as the Morning Star Boys Ranch, Spokane Catholic Charities and the Boy Scouts. MoreBaseball Closes Home Slate With LCSC, WSU5/8/2008 - Baseball Monday and Tuesday Gonzaga University will wrap-up the home slate of the 2008 season with games against Lewis-Clark State College and Washington State University. Monday, the Zags will host the Warriors in a rescheduled contest at 6 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for April 23, but due to weather was pushed to a later date. Tuesday, GU will wrap-up a four-game season series with the Cougars at Patterson Baseball Complex and Washington Trust Field. Soccer Gonzaga University men's soccer player George Josten and women's basketball player Michelle Elliott were named the Bulldog Club Male and Female Athletes of the Year, respectively, at Wednesday's Senior Athletes Social which honored the Bulldogs 60 student-athletes who comprise the Class of 2008.Josten and women's soccer player Lauren Zuckerman were also named the Male and Female Scholar Athletes of the Year, respectively.
